Woori Bank reorganises to strengthen data-driven sales and internal controls

Woori Bank said on Thursday it carried out a headquarters reorganisation focused on expanding retail sales synergies, strengthening internal control responsiveness and improving operational efficiency. The bank created a Retail Sales General Department by integrating four units, and said it will use customer data analysis to set and drive retail strategies. It also reorganised internal controls by unifying inspection functions and adding a management audit team.

Personal data protection master plan announced to support trust-based AI innovation

South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission on Thursday announced a third basic master plan for personal data protection for 2027 to 2029 as a joint agenda item with relevant ministries at an economic ministers\' meeting. The plan sets out a vision of a trusted data environment and an AI society. It includes four strategies and 12 tasks, including redesigning rules for AI, strengthening prevention-focused protections, upgrading policy and expanding remedies and rights safeguards.

Banksalad selected for government MyData support project

Banksalad has been selected for the government’s MyData service support project run by the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency, the company said on Wednesday. It will develop a public-facing healthcare MyData service that lets users manage and use personal health and medical data scattered across multiple medical institutions. The company plans chronic disease prevention features, including risk dashboards, analysis tools and monitoring of indicators such as fasting blood glucose.
