Kraken teams up with MoneyGram to expand crypto cash withdrawals, supporting over 100 countries

Crypto exchange Kraken will launch a service with global remittance company MoneyGram that allows users to convert cryptocurrency into local currency and withdraw cash through MoneyGram’s offline network. The service will start in the United States and expand to parts of Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia-Pacific. The partnership covers more than 100 countries and supports hundreds of local currencies. Kraken is also preparing for an IPO.

Haverhill City Council seeks to ban crypto ATMs, with 60-day removal deadline and $300-a-day fine

The Haverhill City Council in Massachusetts is reviewing an ordinance that would ban the installation and operation of crypto ATMs in the city. If approved, all crypto kiosks and ATMs in Haverhill would have to be removed within 60 days, with a fine of $300 per day for missed deadlines. The city cited potential harm to residents, including risks of financial fraud, money laundering and limited recourse for users.
