[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Overseas remittance service MoneyGram has expanded its cryptocurrency cash deposit and withdrawal service, "Ramps," to the Solana network. Cointelegraph reported on Monday local time that Solana-based wallets, exchanges and developers can now add cash-to-cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency-to-cash conversion functions to their services through the MoneyGram payment network.
Ramps previously operated only on Stellar, and Solana has become the second blockchain supported by Ramps. The Solana wallet "Lift" is the first wallet to adopt the Ramps service. Lift users can use Ramps through the MoneyGram network.
MoneyGram provides services to more than 60 million people through about 500,000 retail locations in more than 170 countries worldwide. Solana developers can now access this network through a single API.
Ramps supports cash deposits in more than 25 countries and cash withdrawals in more than 170 countries and regions. The service has also been integrated into the payment module of the Solana developer platform. Developers can add MoneyGram’s fiat on-ramp and off-ramp infrastructure without building separate bank integrations themselves.
MoneyGram described the Solana support as part of an effort to expand Ramps to multiple blockchain ecosystems. MoneyGram joined as a Solana validator in June and began staking SOL and processing network transactions.
