Biohub releases 3 free AI systems for protein prediction and design
Biohub has made free to the research community three AI systems used for protein structure prediction, design and discovery. The release aims to replace much of the process of finding protein-based therapeutic candidates with computation to speed up drug development. The tools include ESMC, a model trained on 2.8 billion protein sequences, and ESMFold2, which predicts 3D structures of biomolecular complexes. Biohub also unveiled ESM Atlas for large-scale search.

Meta introduces fully private AI chat feature
Meta is introducing a private AI chat feature for WhatsApp and the Meta AI app that is designed so even the company cannot read the conversations. The new mode, called Incognito Chat with Meta AI, does not save chats by default and messages disappear. Meta said it runs on WhatsApp’s Private Processing technology, with computing done in a secure environment inaccessible to Meta. The rollout will be phased over the coming months.

Meta tests Grok-like AI replies on Threads posts
Meta is testing a public reply-style AI feature on Threads that explains the context of posts. The early beta runs through a dedicated account, @meta.ai, allowing users to summon the AI in replies or chat with it in the app. The initial rollout covers Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Argentina and Singapore. The feature aligns with Meta’s expansion strategy around its new AI model, Muse Spark, and other tests such as side chats in group conversations.
