Tesla unmonitored robotaxi fleet shrinks to about 20 vehicles
Tesla’s fleet of unmonitored robotaxis has recently declined, with 20 vehicles counted over the past seven days, and its overall ride-hail fleet down to 34, Electric reported. Tracker data showed 14 unmonitored vehicles in Austin and three each in Dallas and Houston, down from about 25 in late April. The number of ride-hail vehicles in California’s Bay Area fell to nine from 107 in April, pulling total active ride-hail vehicles down from 165.

Kraken parent Payward revenue jumps on tokenization expansion
Kraken parent Payward posted adjusted first-quarter revenue of $507 million, Cointelegraph reported. Payward said futures trading rose 51 percent from a year earlier. Assets on the platform climbed 11 percent to $40 billion, while the number of funded accounts increased 47 percent to 6.1 million. Its tokenized stock platform xStocks expanded supported names to 100 and plans to increase them to more than 500 by end-2026.

Xpeng in talks to acquire Volkswagen Europe plant as exports jump 62 percent
Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng is discussing a plant acquisition with Volkswagen to secure a production base in Europe, as capacity at its contract manufacturing line in Austria tightens. Xpeng produced G6 and G9 models for Europe at Magna Steyr in Austria and completed trial production of the 2026 P7+ sedan in January. Xpeng\'s April overseas exports rose 62 percent from a year earlier. Volkswagen is pursuing cuts to excess capacity in Europe and is considering transferring some capacity to Chinese partners.
