SKT\'s Jung says it must become \'AI infrastructure architect\', not just a telecoms carrier
Jung Jaeheon (정재헌), CEO of SK Telecom, said the company\'s full-stack AI strategy drew strong attention in global markets at MWC 26 in Barcelona. Writing for SKT Newsroom, he compared the event to the construction site of Barcelona\'s Sagrada Familia basilica. He said telecoms carriers should move beyond being simple data pipes and become AI infrastructure architects, designing and operating infrastructure, while pursuing change focused on customers.

MWC26: SKT CEO Jung Jae-heon tests Galaxy S26, jokes film makers are done
SK Telecom CEO Jung Jae-heon expressed surprise at Samsung Electronics’ device technology after trying the Galaxy S26. Samsung President Roh Tae-moon voiced confidence in the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s privacy display and promised continued cooperation. At MWC26 in Barcelona, Jung toured Samsung’s booth with Roh and tested Galaxy AI features, including Buds4, Galaxy XR and Galaxy Watch functions. Jung also visited Xiaomi and viewed smart home and vehicle demos.

LG Uplus steps up AI-driven autonomous network strategy with digital twin
LG Uplus said it will step up a strategy to automate network operations by applying AI agents and digital twin-based technology to its commercial network. The company presented plans to shift failure and traffic management, wireless network optimisation and exchange-site management to an AI-based autonomous operating network. It is using a platform called AION and said customer quality complaints fell after its introduction. It is also piloting an autonomous robot, U-BOT, to collect site data and support digital twin models.
