Kakao to launch \'AI for Everyone\' by year-end, targets 5 million MAU

Kakao plans to officially launch its \'AI for Everyone\' service by the end of this year and aims to secure 5 million monthly active users, it said. The service is being developed with 34 companies and institutions and is designed to move beyond simple Q&A to tasks such as search, lookup and reservations. Kakao said access will be available via KakaoTalk or a separate web page, with execution features limited in the initial beta.

AI scientists gather for AI4Sci Korea 2026 conference

South Korea will host its first international academic conference in the AI for Science field, which combines science and technology with AI. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it will hold the AI4Sci Korea 2026 conference in Seoul through Oct. 1. About 600 researchers and industry experts from 19 countries will participate and present about 220 papers. The program focuses on autonomous research agents and AI-based scientific discovery.

LG Electronics hosts LG AI Devcon 2026 with 1,500 developers

LG Electronics held LG AI Devcon 2026 for two days from Sept. 15 at LG Sciencepark in Magok, Seoul, under the auspices of the LG SW Council, it said on Tuesday. About 1,500 developers from LG group affiliates joined online and offline. The event included exhibitions of AI technologies from Nvidia, Microsoft, Google Cloud, AWS and the LG AI Research Institute, along with keynotes and presentations on AI-based development and security.
