Assembly agenda again omits nominations for broadcast media communications commission
South Korea’s National Assembly again failed to put a motion to recommend members of the Broadcast Media Communications Commission on its plenary agenda on Feb. 24. The omission pushes the process to a March extraordinary session. Launched on Oct. 1, the commission is meant to be a seven-member body but currently has only two members, making decisions impossible. Party nominations have drawn criticism from a journalists’ union, and pending broadcast-related issues are waiting for normal operations.
