MSIT opens call for technology developers awards to boost recognition of private researchers
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Wednesday it will invite nominations for 2026 government awards to honour researchers and research organisations that have led private-sector technology innovation. The awards are linked to the first Technology Developers Day event on Sept. 7, after the day was designated a national commemorative day. Nominations are open regardless of position or current or former status, including individuals and groups.

Park Jong-sung and Jung In-hwa win April South Korea Engineer Award
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Industrial Technology Association said on April 13 they selected Park Jong-sung of SEMES and Jung In-hwa of Atlas Networks as winners of the April 2026 Korea Engineer Award. Park was recognized for developing MPGA prober equipment for inspecting HBM chips. Jung was cited for developing a VPN-based SD-WAN solution and a wireless mobile test automation platform.

Samsung Electronics\' Choi Jeong-min, Hanmi Pharmaceutical\'s Lim Ho-taek win March Korea Engineer Award
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Industrial Technology Association said on March 9 they selected Choi Jeong-min of Samsung Electronics and Lim Ho-taek of Hanmi Pharmaceutical as winners of the March 2026 Korea Engineer Award. Choi was cited for optimising wiring structures linked to FinFET transistors to cut contact dimensions and improve power use and performance. Lim was recognised for work on combination and improved drugs.
