Hana Securities joins National Arboretum to conserve biodiversity
Hana Securities said on April 28 it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea National Arboretum under the Korea Forest Service to conserve forest biodiversity and restore forest ecosystems. The partners plan cooperation on forest organism research and habitat conservation, restoration and release of rare species, raising public awareness for carbon neutrality and biodiversity conservation, and sharing information on climate-change responses, promotion and building networks.

SKT, Yuhan-Kimberly join hands to restore Andong wildfire damage
SK Telecom said it held a tree-planting event with Yuhan-Kimberly on April 4 in Pungcheon-myeon, Andong, to create a “Forest of Peace” in areas damaged by wildfires. About 100 employees and family members took part and planted 1,500 trees, including rare species designated by the Korea Forest Service. The companies plan to plant 10,000 trees over five years through 2030 and use AI and drones to support restoration planning.

South Korea\'s 2026 government R&D budget set at 35.5 trillion won
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will hold a joint briefing from Jan. 19 to 21 at KAIST in Daejeon on 2026 government research and development programmes. The government’s R&D budget totals 35.5 trillion won, to be used for future growth engines such as AI, semiconductors, quantum technology, advanced bio, energy and aerospace, as well as expanding basic research, fostering talent and strengthening the research ecosystem.
