Hana Bank will hold a nationwide art contest in which children can express the value of nature and the environment through drawings. The 'Nature Love Children's Art Contest', now in its 34th year, will also run an ESG programme that accumulates donations for each entry submitted in the preliminary round.

Hana Bank said on Thursday it will hold the 34th Hana Bank Nature Love Children's Art Contest.

The contest is a nationwide children's art competition sponsored by the Ministry of Climate Energy and Environment, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Forest Service and the Seoul Museum of Art. It was set up to help children connect with nature through drawing and to think about the value of the environment in an easy and enjoyable way.

Preliminary submissions will be accepted through the contest's official website until Aug. 24. Entrants must submit image files showing the artwork and the child drawing it. The bank plans to select 200 finalists in September and hold an offline final round.

It will also run a donation programme that sets aside 1,000 won per preliminary entry to support activities to protect the natural environment.

The bank has also prepared programmes that children and families can join, including an early-bird registration event, an Environment Day event, a 'Lucky Hana' event for participants who register at specific sequence numbers and a social media verification event.

A Hana Bank official from its ESG Finance Department said, "We hope this contest will be a meaningful time to enjoy learning about the value of nature and the environment and expressing it."
