Hana Securities said on April 28 it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea National Arboretum under the Korea Forest Service to conserve forest biodiversity and restore forest ecosystems.

Under the agreement, it plans a range of cooperation including forest organism research and habitat conservation; collaboration to conserve biodiversity through measures such as restoring and releasing rare species; raising public awareness to practise carbon neutrality and conserve biodiversity; and sharing information on climate-change responses, promotion and building networks.

Hana Securities CEO Sung-mook Kang (강성묵) said the agreement laid the groundwork to help address biodiversity conservation, a global environmental issue. He said the firm will continue working to create sustainable social value through ESG management.
