Buterin bets on \'next-generation Ethereum\' with 2-second blocks, quantum protection within 4 years
The Ethereum Foundation released a long-term technical roadmap called Strawmap, a draft blueprint to view layer-1 protocol upgrades in an integrated way over the next decade. The plan envisions seven hard forks by 2029, aiming to cut transaction finality to seconds and raise throughput to 10,000 transactions per second on layer 1 and 10 million per second on layer 2. It also includes quantum-resistant cryptography and shielded transfers for privacy.
