Ethereum Institutional launches to target tokenisation and stablecoins
Ethereum Institutional, a non-profit dedicated to institutional engagement in the Ethereum ecosystem, officially launched on July 1. It separates functions previously handled by the Ethereum Foundation’s business development team and will focus on banks and asset managers. The group plans hubs in several financial centres and will work across five areas including education, marketing and standards. Executives cited growing interest in tokenisation and stablecoins.

MetaMask launches mUSD-linked money account with card payments
MetaMask has launched a Money Account that lets users deposit its stablecoin mUSD and earn up to 4 percent variable annual yield, while enabling spending by card when needed. The product is tied to DeFi lending strategies rather than interest paid by the issuer, MetaMask said. The service will roll out globally but excludes the UK, EU member states and sanctioned regions. Card payments are available only on the Monad blockchain.

Ethereum Foundation wraps up reorganisation, shifts focus to protocol and institutional support
The Ethereum Foundation has completed a months-long reorganisation and cut 54 staff, about 20 percent of its workforce. It has restructured around five domain clusters and will focus on strengthening the protocol and supporting the ecosystem. The new structure adds an operations cluster and teams reporting directly to management, with separate internal structures and performance metrics for each cluster. Severance is set at the higher of a tenure-based formula or local legal standards.
