U.S. CFTC to discuss Clarity Act regulation, sets Innovation Advisory Committee meeting for Aug. 20

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is reviewing the direction of cryptocurrency regulation amid a legislative gap in Congress. The agency plans to hold an Innovation Advisory Committee meeting on Aug. 20 to discuss regulatory issues involving crypto assets, artificial intelligence and prediction markets. A key focus is how to align follow-on legislation with regulator actions, as the Senate failed to advance the Clarity bill on digital asset market structure before recess.
