Deputy Prime Minister and Science and ICT Minister Baek Kyung-hoon (배경훈) visited the Korea Aerospace Administration in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, on March 25 to review major pending issues and check progress on the K-Moonshot project.

The Korea Aerospace Administration briefed him on its main implementation plans for 2026 to become one of the world’s five leading space powers. It also reported on a low-Earth-orbit satellite communications network and the status of its organizational innovation advisory committee. Baek also closely checked progress on the space data centre demonstration project led by the agency among the K-Moonshot projects reported at the science and technology ministers’ meeting on March 11.

Baek said, "Despite the short period since the agency opened, the public and private sectors jointly prepared and successfully completed the fourth launch of Nuri," and encouraged staff. He added, "Please make efforts so that the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Aerospace Administration become one team and the aerospace industry can become a key industry for our country."

Baek later held a luncheon and tea meeting with younger employees and heard about difficulties including settlement conditions. He said, "I will actively support the Korea Aerospace Administration so it can move beyond the settlement stage and grow into a core ministry leading the country’s future advanced strategic industries."
