South Korea designates 9 ICT regulatory exemptions to spread digital innovation
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT designated nine ICT regulatory sandbox exemptions after holding its 45th review committee meeting in writing on Sept. 21, it said on Monday. The exemptions include a pilot to use blockchain-based digital currency for payments such as government office operating expenses, which are currently limited to government purchase cards. Exemptions were also granted for electronic notices and online resident meetings in urban renewal projects and KT\'s mobile electronic notification service.

MSIT launches generative AI service to check ICT regulations
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will provide a generative AI-based regulatory search service so companies can quickly check whether rules and permits apply to new technologies and services. The ministry and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency said they will offer the \"ICT Regulatory Sandbox Rapid Regulation Check Service\" to 300 companies, including ICT regulatory sandbox applicants. Vouchers for up to 100 questions per month will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis through year-end.

South Korea science ministry fast-tracks four ICT regulatory sandbox pilots
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT fast-tracked four cases under its ICT regulatory sandbox pilot exemption scheme, including a voiceprint-based mobile voice phishing detection service and projects to use vacant rural homes for shared lodging. It also approved a mobile electronic notification service for financial guidance leaflets previously sent by mail. The ministry said it held a written review meeting from July 22 to 29 to designate the cases.
