Tether posts $1.04 billion Q1 net profit; USDT excess reserves hit $8.23 billion

Tether posted a net profit of $1.04 billion in the first quarter of 2026 and increased excess reserves backing USDT to $8.23 billion. The company released a first-quarter reserves attestation report, according to The Block Crypto. The report was prepared by accounting firm BDO and reflects reserves as of March 31, but it is not a full financial audit. Tether said it had more than $191.7 billion in total assets and $183.5 billion in total liabilities.

ARK Invest sees bitcoin market cap reaching $16 trillion by 2030

ARK Invest forecast bitcoin\'s market capitalisation could reach $16 trillion by 2030, citing expanding institutional adoption and inclusion in global investment portfolios. In its annual “Big Ideas” report, it said bitcoin’s market value of about $1.5 trillion could grow more than tenfold over the next four years, implying about 63 percent compound annual growth. It also highlighted rising holdings by ETFs, listed companies and countries, and estimated broader portfolio allocations could add trillions of dollars in value.

U.S. Pentagon picks OpenAI, Google, SpaceX among 8 for AI rollout, excludes Anthropic

The U.S. Department of Defense has signed contracts with companies including Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and Reflection AI to deploy their AI models and technology on classified networks, aiming for lawful AI use. The selected group also includes SpaceX, OpenAI and Google. The Pentagon said it chose multiple U.S. suppliers to avoid reliance on one vendor. Anthropic was not included, and related legal disputes continue.
