[Digital Today reporter Hyunwoo Choo] Korea Fujifilm will launch the palm-sized digital camera Instax PAL 2 in South Korea on the 27th. It will take pre-orders from the 22nd to the 26th on its official online store, Fujifilm Mall.

It is a follow-up released about 3 years after the PAL series was first introduced in 2023. A key advantage is that consumers who like the feel of vintage cameras but found the process or weight burdensome can operate the camera themselves and enjoy decorating photos to match their tastes.

It has a classic body with a viewfinder and a top LCD monitor, and supports 2 shooting modes: 1MP and 10MP. A semi-matte finish improves grip. Users turn a lever to choose 1 of 4 shooting formats: no frame, mini, square and wide. When linked to the dedicated app, users can apply 5 themes, including lo-fi, antique, pure, summer and candy, for a total of 30 effects.

In animation mode, pressing and holding the shutter button takes up to 10 consecutive shots to create flipbook-style content. Printing is also available when linked to printers in the Instax Link series. A Korea Fujifilm official said, "We hope people will take photos more often with the PAL 2 and enjoy various photo experiences that extend to editing, sharing and printing." It comes in 2 colors, black and white, and costs 239,000 won.
