Korea to begin robot foundation model development next year amid 3-year physical AI window warning
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is accelerating its response to physical AI competition amid expectations the key window could close within three years. The government plans to begin developing robot foundation models and world models next year through a large R&D project involving AI models, data, robots and demand-side firms. It also aims to build a physical data library, support field deployment in areas such as mail and logistics, and expand cross-ministry cooperation.
