Korea-EU Research and Innovation Day held as 28 Korean teams selected for Horizon Europe
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held the 2026 Korea-EU Research and Innovation Day in Seoul on March 24 with the National Research Foundation of Korea and the EU Delegation to South Korea. It was the first jointly hosted event since South Korea joined Horizon Europe as an associate member. Pre-registrations reached 650. Officials outlined cooperation plans and presented guidance on the 2026-2027 work programme. In 2025 calls, 28 teams including Korean researchers were selected.

Ku Hyeok-chae says Korea to bring forward future networks with Finland in quantum, 6G
Ku Hyeok-chae (구혁채), first vice minister at South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, met Finland\'s technology envoy Antti Vasara (Antti Vasara) in Seoul on Thursday to discuss strengthening advanced science and technology ties. The talks followed a Finnish proposal to expand cooperation with Korea in quantum, 6G and AI. The two sides also discussed hosting a quantum standards meeting in Finland in May and invited a Finnish delegation to a 6G event in Seoul in December.

South Korea, Switzerland hold 7th joint science and technology committee meeting
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held the seventh Korea-Switzerland Joint Committee on Science and Technology in Bern on Tuesday and will attend a Korea-Switzerland science cooperation event on Wednesday to discuss cooperation between researchers. The two countries shared major policy trends and reviewed cooperation results since the sixth meeting, including joint research and exchanges. They plan to expand programs tied to Horizon Europe participation and strengthen cooperation next year.
