Hyundai Motor unveils body-on-frame EV battery patent for next mid-size pickup

Hyundai Motor has disclosed a patent for a body-on-frame battery mounting structure for electric vehicles as it steps up preparations to target North America’s mid-size electric pickup market. The design integrates the battery within the frame to secure ground clearance while lowering the centre of gravity and improving protection in off-road conditions. Global \'supply chain diet\' gains traction as firms target cost cuts, risk diversification

Seven in 10 global companies plan to restructure their supply chains within five years as prolonged trade wars and recession concerns fuel a push to cut costs and diversify risk.
