MSIT steps up staff AI skills with training results event
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is moving to strengthen internal capabilities to apply artificial intelligence to frontline national research and development administration. The ministry held an AI competency training results presentation event on Monday at the Government Complex Sejong and shared outcomes from 10 weeks of training. Officials and staff attended. The programme combined lectures and hands-on practice and produced AI tools aimed at policy work and R&D administrative efficiency.

Gu Yoon-cheol says South Korean stocks still undervalued, financial investment income tax depends on market conditions
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Gu Yoon-cheol said South Korea\'s stock market remains at a low level compared with advanced economies and has room to rise further. He said the KOSPI has topped its record 7,000 and the market capitalisation ranking has risen to seventh from 13th since the new government took office. Gu cited PBR data and pointed to the semiconductor cycle and AI demand as key variables, while taking a cautious stance on reviving the financial investment income tax.

PIPC shares expanded data portability measures with key public agencies
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission said on Tuesday it briefed major public institutions, including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Health Insurance Service, on expanded measures for personal data portability and shared details of updated regulations. The commission is revising public guidance on the amended enforcement decree, covering broader scope for portability requests, criteria for determining covered entities, prior consultations on transfer methods, exclusions for sensitive information, and requirements when agents use automated tools.
