He highlighted progress on a homegrown AI foundation model project and a broader consensus on the need to secure GPUs. The government is pursuing a two-track strategy for domestic and frontier models, preparing a nationwide AI service and advancing plans for data, 6G, R&D and power supply for AI data centres.

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held a launch ceremony on Sunday for the third 2030 Youth Advisory Group to reflect young people\'s perspectives in science, technology and information and communications policies, including artificial intelligence. The 21-member panel was selected through an open recruitment process and screening in April. It will make policy suggestions, gather and convey youth opinion and develop policy ideas.
