U.S. Treasury begins drafting detailed rules ahead of Genius Act rollout
The U.S. Treasury has begun procedures to draft rules to implement the Genius Act, a stablecoin regulation law. It has started collecting public comments on draft regulations ahead of the law’s planned rollout in January 2027. The law sets a framework for payment stablecoins in the United States, but the Treasury and other agencies have not finalised detailed rules by a July deadline. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said stakeholder input is needed.

One in 10 U.S. adults use or invest in crypto, usage rebounds after 3 years
About 10 percent of U.S. adults used or invested in cryptocurrencies in 2025, the highest level since 2022, a Federal Reserve survey showed. The main use remained investment and holding assets, with fewer than 2 percent saying they used crypto to buy goods or send money to acquaintances. Crypto payments were more common among unbanked adults. Usage was highest among those aged 30 to 44, and men’s rate was about three times women’s.

Bitcoin long-term holdings rise as market watches U.S. monetary policy
