A number of long-running mysteries remain in the cryptocurrency market even though transaction records are preserved on blockchains. They range from the true identity of bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto and the so-called Patoshi, to missing bitcoin after exchange collapses and hacks. Other cases include the disappearance of OneCoin founder Ruja Ignatova, a British man who discarded a hard drive holding keys to 8,000 bitcoin, and unresolved asset outflows following FTX\'s bankruptcy.

U.S., UK launch joint cooperation targeting crypto scam centres
The United States and Britain have launched their first joint law enforcement cooperation framework targeting overseas centres running cryptocurrency investment scams. U.S. federal prosecutors in Washington, the Crown Prosecution Service for England and Wales and Britain’s National Crime Agency signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue parallel investigations, share information and decide where to prosecute cases. Authorities say they have identified overlapping cases and plan an operation in London in early October with private companies.

Hawaii to enforce cryptocurrency ATM ban from Oct. 1
Hawaii will enforce a law that bans cryptocurrency ATMs and kiosks, becoming the fourth U.S. state to impose a full ban after Minnesota, Tennessee and Indiana, Cointelegraph reported. The state legislature passed House Bill 1642 in May, and Governor Josh Green signed it in July. The law prohibits owning, operating or managing kiosks that take U.S. dollars from customers and convert them into digital assets.
