EU revisits crypto rules, mulls \'MiCA 2\'
The European Union is reviewing its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) rulebook and is leaving open the possibility of follow-up legislation, an adviser to the European Commission said at Paris Blockchain Week 2026. The aim is to check whether the framework can keep up with market change, not because it has failed. Binance applies for MiCA licence in Greece
Binance has applied for its first licence in Greece in line with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, Cointelegraph reported on Thursday. A Binance spokesperson said the company is working with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission and said the regulation will contribute to growth in the EU digital finance ecosystem. The move follows a warning from France’s AMF on MiCA compliance among crypto firms.

France warns 90 unlicensed crypto firms ahead of MiCA deadline
France\'s financial regulator has warned 90 unlicensed crypto firms ahead of the end-June deadline for applying the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regime, Cointelegraph reported. The AMF said 30 percent of the firms did not respond on whether they had applied for a licence, while 40 percent said they do not plan to obtain one. It warned non-compliant firms could be forced to stop operating from July.
