[DigitalToday reporter Chi-kyu Hwang] Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure company affiliated with Stripe, received regulatory approval in Luxembourg and was added to the European Union's MiCA register, the bloc's crypto regulation framework.

Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 7 that the listing increased the number of electronic money token (EMT) issuers on the EU register to 42.

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) reflected the change in its latest update released on Aug. 6.

Bridge previously said it had secured an electronic money institution (EMI) licence from Luxembourg's financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), on July 2. At the time, Bridge product head Mai Le Duhc Blount (마이 르덕 블라운트) said the approval would allow companies in the EU to build stablecoins and payment products within a regulatory framework.

ESMA has been updating the MiCA register more frequently in recent weeks. It was updated several times in July as well.
