Dongtan, Giheung, Guri designated as regulated areas; mortgage LTV set at 40 percent
South Korea designates Dongtan in Hwaseong, Giheung in Yongin and the city of Guri as regulated areas, tightening housing-related lending rules. From July 1, the mortgage loan-to-value ratio in the areas falls to 40 percent from 70 percent under non-regulated standards, while some categories such as first-time home purchases and policy mortgages apply eased ratios. Jeonse loans, large credit loans and business loans for home purchases also face tighter limits.

Emart Q1 operating profit 178.3 billion won; Traders posts record quarterly sales
Emart said on Tuesday its first-quarter operating profit rose 11.9 percent from a year earlier to 178.3 billion won on consolidated revenue of 7.12 trillion won, its best first-quarter result since 2012. Separate operating profit increased 9.7 percent. Traders led the improvement with record quarterly sales of 1.06 trillion won and higher profit. Emart also reported higher April sales and growth at key subsidiaries.

Govt GPU second-round bidding draws five contenders, Coupang re-entry in focus
South Korea\'s second round of government support for graphics processing units has attracted five bidders, including first-round winner Naver Cloud and first-round loser Coupang, both re-entering. KT Cloud, Samsung SDS and Elice Group joined as new participants. The science ministry set evaluation criteria including economic feasibility, large scale, direct clustering, latest GPUs and service launch within the year. Officials plan evaluations and site inspections in April and May before selecting operators in May.
