Selectstar joins Open Telco AI as official partner
Selectstar, an AI data and reliability evaluation company, said on Thursday it has joined the GSMA-launched Open Telco AI as an official partner for data and AI evaluation. The alliance brings together more than 40 companies and institutions including AT&T, AMD and Google Cloud. Selectstar said it will help verify reliability across the ecosystem, support Open Telco Benchmark operations and provide AI reliability assessment and red-teaming services for telecom operators.

SpaceX Starlink to launch second-generation V2 network in 2027
SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service has unveiled plans to build a second-generation (V2) satellite network, targeting speeds and quality similar to terrestrial 5G even in satellite-connected environments. Starlink engineering executive Michael Nichols said V2 satellites could offer up to 150 Mbps download speeds in ideal conditions and support 100 times higher data density than the previous generation. SpaceX plans to begin deploying more than 50 V2 satellites per launch from mid-2027 and build the next constellation in about six months. Starlink also announced a partnership with Deutsche Telekom starting in 2028.

SKT to expand global telco AI alliance at MWC26
SK Telecom says it will expand the scope of its AI alliance with global telecom operators using MWC26 as a springboard. It says it discussed cooperation on AI data centres, AI models and AI RAN with telecom executives in Barcelona. SKT also held a global AI data centre conference and introduced its AI data centre infrastructure, its A.X K1 foundation model and a sovereign AI package for industrial and enterprise services.
