Microsoft unveils AI code of conduct, bans hacking, nuclear weapons, deepfakes

Microsoft unveiled a new code of conduct for its AI models, banning cyber attacks, nuclear weapons-related actions and the creation of deepfakes. The company set out values and safety standards to apply to AI model training. The document assumes superintelligent AI systems could surpass humans in most tasks within 10 years and calls controlling such systems a major challenge. It prioritises overarching norms over user preferences and tasks, and says AI should support humans and be designed to advance human prosperity.
