Snapdragon Summit 2026: Qualcomm expands Snapdragon X2 Linux support to broaden agentic AI development base

Qualcomm is expanding operating system support for its Snapdragon X2 series for PCs to include Linux, aiming to let more developers and partners build agentic AI across a wider range of PC environments. It unveiled an Early Developer Preview for Linux at Snapdragon Summit 2026 in Maui. Debian support is set to begin by the end of 2026, while Ubuntu certification is targeted for the first half of 2027. Initial support focuses on key drivers and upstreaming them into the mainline kernel.

Netflix steps up viewing data-driven ad strategy, expands DSP partnerships

Netflix said on Sept. 18 it took part in The Trade Desk\'s \'TTD Open Forum: Omnichannel in the AI Era\' on Sept. 17 and introduced its data-based advertising strategy and ad technology. An industry lead said attention has become a meaningful metric and called for using advanced data infrastructure and technology-based partnerships. Netflix said it uses viewing data to design campaigns, offers several ad products, and is expanding programmatic ad buying linked to DSP platforms.

Huawei unveils 7.2 Tbps NPO, targets lead in AI network optics standards

Huawei is pushing standardisation of near-packaged optics, or NPO, for AI networks. The company is positioning NPO as a replacement for detachable optical modules and as an alternative to co-packaged optics, or CPO, citing CPO’s cost and maintenance burden. Huawei unveiled a 7.2-terabit-per-second NPO module at the China International Optoelectronic Exposition in Shenzhen. It plans to use the module in next-generation SuperPOD AI systems.
