Ceva, a silicon and software IP company for smart edge devices, said on Tuesday it will supply its SensPro AI DSP architecture to the Eagle-A advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) system-on-chip developed by Bos Semiconductor.

Eagle-A was developed as a chip for standalone ADAS. As the automotive industry shifts to software-defined architectures, demand is rising for real-time sensor data processing and safety-critical artificial intelligence technologies. Bos Semiconductor introduced Ceva's solution to enhance performance in next-generation autonomous driving systems, the company explained.

Eagle-A integrates a high-performance NPU, CPU and GPU and includes dedicated interfaces for camera, lidar and radar-based sensor fusion. Ceva's SensPro AI DSP is optimised for lidar and radar pre-processing and efficiently handles raw sensor data. This minimises latency in the perception pipeline.

Bos Semiconductor applied a chiplet architecture and developed Eagle-A to work with the Eagle-N AI accelerator in a UCIe and PCIe-based multi-die environment. OEMs can adjust computing performance based on ADAS and autonomous driving system requirements. The Eagle series has a modular design and can also be applied to edge AI applications such as robots and drones, in addition to automobiles.

Chae Jeongseok, vice president of strategic marketing at Bos Semiconductor, said Eagle-A is a next-generation SoC developed with differentiated technological capabilities. He said it provides domain-level computing performance, safety and high scalability optimised for ADAS. Chae said Ceva's SensPro AI DSP plays a key role in meeting these design goals and is expected to efficiently support complex sensing workloads.

Yaron Galitzky, vice president and head of Ceva's AI business unit, said it is meaningful to support Bos Semiconductor, which he said is leading the next-generation ADAS field. He said adopting Ceva's SensPro shows that AI DSP is a core technology for implementing advanced sensing functions in ADAS environments and strengthens Ceva's position in the rapidly growing automotive market.
