Honda, Tesla and Volkswagen join EV discontinuation rush in U.S.
Honda has officially confirmed it will end production of the Prologue, its last all-electric model sold in the United States. The move comes as the U.S. EV market faces slowing growth and policy changes, prompting major automakers to scale back EV lineups. Second-quarter U.S. EV sales totalled 247,226 vehicles, or 5.8 percent of new-vehicle sales, data showed. Other automakers have also halted or reduced EV models.

Analysts cite high oil prices and ample Chinese EV supply as key drivers in parts of Asia. In the United States, demand indicators are improving, but fewer models and cancellations are constraining supply.
