China government warns of backdoor risk in Anthropic\'s Claude Code
China has warned that Anthropic\'s AI coding tool Claude Code has a security backdoor vulnerability. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said an inspection of its cyber security threat platform found the tool could create backdoor risks for corporate users. It also said Claude Code could transmit sensitive information to remote servers without user consent, including user location and identity details. The affected versions range from 2.1.91 to 2.1.196.

Anthropic expands Claude Cowork to mobile and web
Anthropic’s AI work agent Claude Cowork has expanded to the web and mobile. TechCrunch reported that Claude Cowork, introduced as a desktop app in January, will be available from July 8 on web and mobile for Max subscribers. The expansion lets users continue tasks across devices and keeps work running in the background even if a device is offline. Anthropic also released early usage data on how the tool is used.

Figma acquires Bud development team to boost AI coding and prototyping
Online design platform Figma has acquired the development team behind vibe coding and AI agent platform Bud, TechCrunch reported on Monday. Figma pursued the deal to strengthen its AI functions and integrate coding and prototyping processes within its platform. Under the agreement, Bud and Okies will shut down their services by July 18, and users must migrate projects before then. Figma did not disclose how it will use the acquired team.
