Tesla\'s China cash cow under pressure as output hits record but sales slide for a year
Tesla\'s Shanghai plant posted its highest-ever monthly output in June, but weak sales in China have continued, raising questions about the sustainability of its China business. Tesla built 93,579 cars in June, up 38 percent from a year earlier, yet demand did not rise. Nearly 40 percent of June output was exported, and more than half of second-quarter production went overseas. Internal talk of separating China and non-China operations persists amid shifting U.S. rules.
