ETRI develops 6G ultra-precise sensing technology that lets networks perceive the environment
South Korea\'s Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) said on Tuesday it has developed core technology for a communications-assisted ultra-precise and ultra-low-power sensing system for 6G. The CUPPS system integrates communications and sensing within a 6G structure, assigning sensing to an ultra-low-power tag on the device while communications controls timing. ETRI said tests showed about 350 times higher precision than 5G RTT targets and cut device power use by more than 90 percent.
