Nvidia cracks down on China circumvention, cuts over half of Asia AI chip customers
Nvidia has sharply reduced its AI chip sales network in Asia to block indirect exports to China. Nvidia is conducting on-site data centre inspections, contract checks and user interviews, with U.S. Commerce Department oversight reported.

The debate centres on how closely Taiwan will align with U.S. export-control standards. Taiwan’s economy ministry said it will strengthen oversight of strategic high-tech products and is consulting the United States on adding advanced chips to controls.
