Humanoid robot demos draw attention but experts say too early to replace humans
Humanoid robots are rapidly improving in their ability to perform tasks, but analysts and researchers say it will take years before they can meaningfully replace human labor. Demos by robotics firm Figure AI drew attention, yet questions remain over adaptability, reliability and costs in real-world settings. Experts say robots are most likely to replace repetitive physical work in structured environments, while AI may more readily replace administrative tasks. Charging, maintenance, safety and regulation are cited as barriers to broader deployment.

Human intern narrowly beats Figure AI humanoid in 10-hour parcel sorting test
A public test comparing productivity between a humanoid robot and a human worker ended with a narrow win for the human intern. Figure AI’s F.03 sorted 12,732 packages in 10 hours, while intern Aime handled 12,924. Average speeds differed by about 0.04 seconds per package. The robot briefly led while the intern took breaks. Figure AI CEO Brett Adcock said it would be the last time a human wins.

Ex-Apple staff develop next-generation AI interface, declaring \'personal intelligence\'
AI startup Hark is proposing a new model of interaction between people and AI by integrating model design and hardware. It aims to build a \"complete personal intelligence product\" by designing AI models, hardware and user interfaces as a single system from the start. Founder Brett Adcock said current AI and devices are not designed around AI. Product design chief Abidur Chowdhury said future user experiences should be optimized for each individual.
