Sparrow to unveil \'Sparrow MCP\' for coding AI security
Application security company Sparrow held its annual customer event, SAI 2026, in Seoul on June 11 to assess security threats facing development environments centered on open source and AI coding and to share responses. Supply chain security researcher Lee Man-hee spoke on changing supply chain security and corporate strategies. Sparrow CEO Jang Il-soo said SBOM management should be expanded to track AI models and AI-generated code, and the company proposed Sparrow MCP to verify security from the code generation stage.

Memory price surge could push smartphone prices higher, warning of record shipment drop
Smartphone prices could rise sharply again as surging memory prices lift manufacturing costs and intensify pressure to pass costs on to consumers. Memory prices have risen about 50 percent in recent months and are expected to climb another 50 percent in the first quarter of 2026, with a further 20 percent increase also being discussed by late June. A report projected premium phone production costs could rise by more than $150, and global 2026 shipments may fall about 12 percent.

A next-generation super-premium flagship smartphone may be in testing, focusing on top-tier silicon and memory specifications, PhoneArena reported, citing tipster Digital Chat Station. The device is said to feature 16GB LPDDR6 RAM, 1TB UFS 5.0 storage and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 6th Gen Pro chipset. Estimated component costs could lift the bill of materials above $800, with a possible consumer price of $1,700 or more, it said.
