Samsung Securities commercial paper licence seen as green light, Meritz still in fog
Samsung Securities is seen as closer to winning approval to issue short-term commercial paper as regulators consider lowering sanctions linked to sales misconduct at key branches. The Financial Services Commission is expected to decide on the sanctions at its July 31 meeting, and the licence agenda could reach a Sept. 9 meeting. Meritz Securities, meanwhile, has not advanced its application, with prosecutors investigating alleged unfair trading and other issues weighing on timing.

Samsung SDS completes next-generation ERP build for Samsung Electro-Mechanics
Samsung SDS said on April 20 it has completed a next-generation enterprise resource planning system project for Samsung Electro-Mechanics. The project is its first case based on the “RISE with SAP Premium Supplier” status it obtained in September 2025. Samsung SDS applied Downtime Optimized Conversion to maintain business continuity while migrating large-scale data. It said downtime for converting 8.5 terabytes of SAP HANA data fell from 140 hours to 34 hours.

FSS issues warning on insider share trading disclosures, short-swing profit returns
South Korea\'s Financial Supervisory Service said executives and major shareholders of listed companies must return any short-swing trading profits generated from buying and selling company securities within six months, regardless of whether undisclosed information was used. It also warned about obligations to disclose equity transactions, including large shareholding reports and ownership status reports, and urged care after the cap on penalties for disclosure violations rose in July last year.
