Samsung SDS said on April 20 it has completed a next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) system build project for Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

The project is the first case based on the “RISE with SAP Premium Supplier” status that Samsung SDS obtained in September 2025.

According to the company, Samsung SDS applied Downtime Optimized Conversion technology to maintain business continuity while migrating large-scale data.

Based on the SAP HANA database, the company stressed that it cut downtime required to convert 8.5 terabytes of data by more than 76 percent, to 34 hours from 140 hours.

Samsung SDS is stepping up its cloud ERP conversion business based on the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP), drawing on 30 years of ERP consulting, implementation and operations capabilities.

In addition to Samsung Electro-Mechanics, it is carrying out cloud ERP conversion projects with customers in services and distribution as it accelerates its market push.

Jun-ho Park (박준호), head of the MIS Group at Samsung Electro-Mechanics, said the project broke from existing methods by first integrating and standardising processes and applying them simultaneously across all entities, sharply reducing the build period and costs. He said it is the first case in South Korea to build a real-time analytics environment by integrating major dispersed data, including ERP, MES and SCM, into a single BW (Business Warehouse) database. Hae-gu Song (송해구), head of the Solutions Business Division and a vice president at Samsung SDS, said the case is a meaningful achievement as the first in South Korea and the first among Samsung affiliates to successfully complete a premium supplier-based cloud ERP conversion. He said Samsung SDS will continue to expand the business by leading cloud ERP conversions across industries, including manufacturing, services and distribution, as well as finance, the public sector and defence, as a provider capable of delivering services across the full ERP spectrum, from consulting and implementation to operations and cloud infrastructure.
