[DigitalToday reporter Hyun-woo Choo] Fujifilm Electronic Imaging Korea, or Fujifilm Korea, said on Tuesday it will release the large-format camera "GFX100RF Fragment Edition" (GFX100RF FRAGMENT EDITION) in limited quantities in South Korea.

The model is a collaboration between Fujifilm’s fixed-lens large-format camera GFX100RF and the design project "fragment design" led by Japanese producer and fashion designer Hiroshi Fujiwara.

It applies an anodizing treatment and a special polishing process to the top cover to create an exterior combining gloss and black. It also adds the same finish across accessories including the lens cap and lens hood. The "fragment design" logo is engraved on key areas including the top cover, the front of the camera and the lens hood.

It also includes a dedicated film simulation recipe called "FRGMT BW". Based on ACROS, it emphasises contrast and grain to produce strong black-and-white images, and can be selected directly from the menu.

The GFX100RF weighs 735 grams, the lightest in the GFX series, and includes the 102-megapixel image sensor "GFX 102MP CMOS II" and the high-speed image processing engine "X-Processor 5". It has a 35mm F4 lens (28mm in 35mm format equivalent) and a nine-format aspect ratio dial.

Lim Hoon (임훈), president of Fujifilm Korea, called it a product that combines the technical completeness of a large-format camera with the restrained aesthetics of fragment design. He said he hopes users will experience both the camera’s essence as a creative tool and its value as a collectible.

The edition will be offered in limited quantities in South Korea and sold through an online draw on Fujifilm Korea’s official website for five days from March 16 to 20. Only South Korea residents who have completed website membership registration can apply once per person.
