Clarity Act faces more legislative headwinds as U.S. Catholic groups join opposition

The U.S. crypto market structure bill known as the Clarity Act is facing opposition from Catholic leaders and groups. A total of 82 leaders and organisations sent a letter to bipartisan Senate leaders opposing parts of the bill, citing Catholic social teaching on solidarity and protecting vulnerable people. They objected to a provision dubbed the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act, which would exempt decentralised crypto software developers from criminal prosecution.
