Korea Post parcels accepted at CU convenience stores with pickup and delivery by postal carriers
Customers in South Korea will be able to send Korea Post parcels from nearby CU convenience stores, under a new service starting Sept. 10. The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service signed an agreement with BGF Retail on Sept. 9 to launch the service. Postal carriers will visit participating CU stores to collect accepted items and deliver them after postal acceptance procedures. The partners also run an app-based home pickup service and provide carrier rest areas at 174 CU directly operated stores.

Intellicia raises 3.4 billion won in pre-Series A funding for synthetic consumer AI research platform
Intellicia, a startup developing AI synthetic consumer technology, said on Tuesday it raised 3.4 billion won in a pre-Series A round led by Kakao Ventures, with Murex Partners and Capstone Partners participating. The company provides TheSurvey.ai, an AI research platform that generates virtual consumers trained on real consumer data to answer surveys and interviews. It plans to invest the funds in a global SaaS platform due in the fourth quarter and expand to the United States and Japan next year.

Shinsegae I&C expands AI vision solution to convenience stores, applies self-checkout system at CU
Shinsegae I&C said on Aug. 11 it will expand its AI vision-based retail solutions to convenience stores by introducing an AI vision payment management solution at CU convenience stores operated by BGF Retail. The solution analyzes customer behavior at self-checkouts and guides use. The system detects unpaid situations in real time and prompts customers on the screen. It runs inside a camera with a built-in VPU, requiring no additional PC or external server.
