Ohou overhauls membership, shifts benefits to start of purchases
Ohou is scrapping its purchase-performance-based tier system and moving the timing of membership benefits to the start of purchases. The company will introduce a new membership program in September and stop granting new status under its existing VIP tier scheme, it said on Wednesday. The termination takes effect from Aug. 30. The change aims to broaden the range and scope of customers who receive benefits such as points and shipping coupons.

Naver Pay unveils brand film with Macao Government Tourism Office to boost overseas QR payments
Naver Pay (Npay) is partnering with the Macao Government Tourism Office to promote overseas QR payments and has released a brand film combining travel in Macao with simple payments. Naver Pay said overseas QR payment volume in China rose about 70 percent in January to April from a year earlier, while Hong Kong and Macao payments increased about 52 percent. It plans to expand joint promotions, including instant discounts at UnionPay merchants.

Qualcomm, Arduino and Edge Impulse launch global developer competition
Qualcomm Technologies, Arduino and Edge Impulse have launched a global developer competition with the developer community Hackster, the organisers said on Sunday. The contest targets engineers and makers worldwide, including in South Korea, and will provide 300 Arduino UNO Q boards free of charge. Participants will develop in the Arduino App Lab environment, which supports integrated workflows and edge machine learning. Hardware applications close on April 5, with winners to be announced by Sept. 25.
