KT, which failed to make the elite team in the government\'s domestic AI foundation model project, is seeking a turnaround through the government-led \'AI for Everyone\' initiative. The project focuses on delivering AI chatbot and public AI agent services for nationwide use, requiring stable operations and the ability to connect multiple domestic models. KT has formed a consortium that includes AI model, infrastructure and platform firms and consumer-facing service operators such as Daum, Musinsa and Zigbang.

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT released additional details from the second-stage evaluation of its independent AI foundation model project. Motif Technologies scored highest in a global benchmark review. SK Telecom led the NIA benchmark and the AI expert user assessment. LG AI Research received the top scores in the expert panel evaluation and the general public assessment. The ministry expanded disclosure after questions were raised about transparency.
