32 million dollars\' worth of stolen Ethereum moves, raising alarm over tracking Drift hack funds

Ethereum stolen in the Drift Protocol hack has started moving again, with about $32 million sent from hacker-controlled wallets to Tornado Cash in a day. Analysts identified transactions linked to an address labelled “Drift Exploiter 5” and estimated broader daily movement as high as 25,700 ETH. The activity follows about two months of inactivity and is described as a second large laundering attempt. Significant ETH is still held in hacker wallets.

Google DeepMind says no evidence AI self-improvement is accelerating, diverging from industry warnings

Google DeepMind said it has not confirmed that AI is producing more advanced AI or that internal AI research is accelerating in a meaningful way. In a safety report on Gemini 4 Argon, it said no statistically significant change in progress has appeared since April 1, 2026, even though AI writes more than 75 percent of production code. It said automation remains limited and largely requires human direction, while some industry figures warn recursive self-improvement is already speeding up.

Tesla Roadster demo set for Oct. 15 after delays, zero deliveries in nine years

Tesla has rescheduled an event to unveil and demonstrate its next-generation Roadster for Oct. 15 and will livestream it. The model has faced repeated production delays since it was first shown in 2017, and no vehicles have been delivered to customers so far. The event is expected to focus on a demonstration using SpaceX cold-gas thrusters, while a previously flagged flight demo is said to have been scaled back.
