Apptronik opens \'Robot Park\' to speed humanoid training for factories and homes
U.S. humanoid robotics startup Apptronik has unveiled a large training facility called Robot Park, aiming to accelerate commercial use of humanoids by collecting large volumes of real-world data. The 90,000-square-foot site in Austin, Texas, trains its Apollo robot through repeated tasks under teleoperation, operating year-round. CEO Jeff Cardenas (제프 카르데나스) called it a data factory for robot learning. The company has raised about $1 billion and is developing Apollo3.

Swappable vs integrated: Humanoid battery standards race intensifies
With 2026 seen as the first year of mass production for humanoids, robot battery supply methods are splitting into two camps: swappable packs and integrated high-energy-density batteries. Forecasts see global shipments rising sharply through 2035, but limited run time makes securing operating hours a key task. Kiwoom Securities says operating environments drive the choice. Korea’s top three battery makers are preparing options including all-solid-state and high-nickel chemistries as demand grows.

U.S.-China race for robot dominance: China leads in scale, U.S. holds technology edge
The United States and China are competing for leadership in robotics through different approaches. U.S. firms attract far more private AI investment and Chinese AI models trail U.S. models on a key capability index. China, however, is installing robots much faster, backed by broad government support and industrial policy. Beijing is pushing robots to offset labour shortages from ageing and population decline. U.S. companies are focusing on general-purpose AI humanoids.
