Korea\'s three mobile carriers open preorders for Apple\'s first foldable iPhone Duo

South Korea\'s three mobile carriers began taking preorders on Oct. 16 for Apple\'s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, ahead of its Oct. 23 release. SK Telecom is offering benefits tied to trade-ins, partner cards, and subscriptions, as well as early delivery for first-round customers. KT is promoting its Choice Double plans with subscription bundles and device discounts, plus partner-card benefits and phone-care options. IT outlet 9to5Mac, citing about a year of use, said noise blocking feels clearly improved and Apple says it can be up to twice as effective. The earbuds add heart-rate sensors tied to iPhone fitness features. Playback with noise cancelling rises to 8 hours, but total battery life falls to 24 hours. Fit and price were also noted.

Apple has added active noise cancelling to AirPods 5 unveiled this month, lifting the appeal of its entry wireless earbuds. Differences with the higher-end AirPods Pro 3 extend beyond price to design, health functions, hearing protection and noise control, according to NineToFiveMac. AirPods 5 uses an open-fit design, while Pro 3 uses in-ear tips for a more secure fit. Pro 3 also offers heart-rate tracking, hearing test and hearing-aid functions, hearing protection and stronger ANC.
