Science ministry and National Police Agency hold AI policing R&D showcase

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Police Agency held the third Science Policing R&D achievements exhibition on Tuesday at the police headquarters in Seoul. The event featured five themed zones focused on AI, including investigation support, field support, public safety, robotics and mobility. Exhibits included an AI Raman spectrometer to identify narcotics and systems to detect deepfakes and AI-generated news.

Koo Hyuk-chae discusses AI, quantum cooperation with Australian ambassador to South Korea

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said First Vice Minister Koo Hyuk-chae met Australian Ambassador to South Korea Jeff Robinson on Thursday at the Australian Embassy in Seoul. They discussed multilateral research cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and ways to deepen bilateral science, technology and digital cooperation. The two sides reviewed progress on cooperation tasks agreed in December and explored closer collaboration in advanced fields including AI and quantum technology.

Science ministry, DAPA hold future defense technology development results event

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held a results presentation event with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration on June 25 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event reviewed achievements from two technology development programs and discussed defense R&D directions for future battlefields with participants from the public, private and military sectors. Twelve selected projects were presented, followed by presentations and a discussion on applying advanced private technologies.
